Course Objectives:

  • To develop literary understanding, writing, and expression in Arabic and Urdu
  • To study Islamic personalities, values, and history through literary styles
  • To nurture a love for Islamic learning through the language of Deen

Course Components:

1. Arabic Language & Literature

  • Basics of Grammar (Nahu & Sarf): Noun, Verb, Particles, Sentence Structure
  • Practice of Translation and Comprehension using simple Islamic sentences and texts

  • Al-Qirāʾat al-Rāshidah – Easy Arabic stories for beginners
  • Qasas al-Nabiyyīn (Parts 1 & 2) – By Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi (رحمه الله)
  • Al-Ḥikāyāt al-‘Arabiyyah – Moral and educational tales
  • Al-Muntakhab min al-Adab al-‘Arabī – A collection of Arabic literature, speeches, and stories
  • Amthāl al-‘Arab – Classical Arabic proverbs and idioms

2. Urdu Language & Literature

  • Spelling, vocabulary, reading and writing practice (both prose and poetry)
  • Training in religious and ethical writing

3. Islamic Literature & Biography

  • Study of Seerah (Prophetic biography) in a literary format
  • Introduction to key Islamic personalities, the Khulafa-e-Rashideen, and Ahl al-Bayt
  • Reading selected na’atiya (praise of Prophet ﷺ) and reformative poetry

4. Practical Training

  • Essay writing, public speaking, and letter writing
  • Spoken practice in both Urdu and Arabic
  • Review and correction of students’ written work
  • Monthly evaluations, annual exam, and diploma certification
